“Tooro Kingdom Needs a Mature King”- Big Eye Starboss Backs Prince Edward Kijanangoma — Blizz Uganda

Singer Big Eye StarBoss has publicly thrown his support behind Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma in the ongoing dispute over who should succeed the late Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV as the next King of Tooro.

Big Eye says his preference is for Tooro to have an adult monarch who is ready to assume the responsibilities of the throne, rather than returning to a situation where the Kingdom has to wait for a young King to grow into the role.

In a Facebook post, the singer questioned the idea of having another young monarch.

“Personally, I do not agree with once again having a ‘baby as King’,” Big Eye said.

He argued that choosing a young monarch could mean the Kingdom once again has to wait for the King to mature before he can independently make major decisions and fully execute his responsibilities.

“I believe Tooro deserves a king who is ready and capable of providing leadership now,” he added.

Big Eye, however, stressed that his position is his personal opinion and said he respects those who hold a different view.

His comments come after the Babiito Clan Succession Committee announced Prince Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma as the successor to the late Omukama Oyo.

The announcement has sparked disagreement within the Tooro royal family, with Princess Ruth Komuntale, Princess Elizabeth Bagaya and Queen Mother Best Kemigisa among those who have challenged the decision.

The royal family has argued that King Oyo left a Will containing his wishes regarding succession and has called for those wishes to be respected.
