Florence Nampijja has opened up about one of the most hurtful rumours she has ever faced, revealing that false allegations linking her to a married and influential man left her deeply upset.
The former BBS TV presenter, who has since transitioned into acting, said the rumours spread widely online and became one of the most challenging moments of her public life. According to Nampijja, the claims were serious because they involved a married man who holds a prominent position in the country.
Speaking about the ordeal, Nampijja explained that the allegations gained so much traction that people began searching for evidence to support the claims. She noted that a simple online search can still bring up some of the reports that circulated at the time.
“He has a big position and if you go to Google right now, I’m sure you’ll see the allegations. It was bad because things like that can end someone else’s marriage. It was serious to the point that people started looking for evidence,” she said.
Nampijja further revealed that the rumours escalated when people started connecting unrelated events and creating stories around them. Some even claimed that she and the man had travelled together to Dubai, prompting others to investigate and ask questions in an attempt to verify the allegations.
“I actually got so angry at them but let’s leave it at that,” she added.
The actress said the experience showed her how damaging unverified information can be, especially when it affects not only the people involved but also their families and relationships. Despite the emotional toll, Nampijja chose not to reveal the identity of the man at the centre of the rumours.
