Stecia Mayanja Reveals Five Bookings Convinced Her to Return to Uganda

Stecia Mayanja has revealed that she returned to Uganda after receiving five bookings following an advert announcing her availability for performances after years of living in Canada.

The veteran musician said the unexpected response made her realise that people still loved her music, something that encouraged her to return home and revive her career.

Stecia explained that she had not even fully planned her return when she asked someone to share an advert about her availability for weddings and traditional ceremonies.

“I told someone to share an advert about my return and we had done it during COVID about hiring me for weddings and traditional ceremonies and it blew up. The media started talking about it yet I hadn’t even started the plan of coming back but surprisingly he got five bookings right away,” she said.

According to Stecia, the manager who received the bookings urged her to return to Uganda because failing to honour the commitments would have left a bad impression.

“I told him I’m coming home. I felt bad when I missed Haruna’s concert and the spirit of music hit me again and I returned,” she added.

Stecia’s return was therefore driven not only by the bookings but also by a renewed passion for music after spending years away from Uganda.
