Dynaso Wegoso Reworks “Paver” After UCC Ban, Shifts Message to Condemn Violence

Ugandan singer Dynaso Wegoso, widely known for his trending track “Paver,” has revealed that he has reworked the song following a meeting with the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).

While speaking to Spark TV, Dynaso explained that UCC advised him to revise the song so that it delivers a message discouraging violence, as opposed to the initial version. The original release had raised concern for allegedly promoting harmful behavior.

UCC had earlier announced a ban on the song across mainstream media platforms and reportedly reached out to TikTok to take down related challenges.

The decision followed incidents along the Northern Bypass, where numerous drivers were being attacked with pavers, leading to injuries and even loss of life.

“The new song is already recorded, and I’ve shared it with my bosses for feedback,” Dynaso said, noting that once approved internally, it will be submitted to UCC for clearance before release.

He also addressed the UGX 5 million pledge reportedly promised by a minister, saying he has not yet received the money but remains hopeful.

“If I receive that money, it would greatly change my life,” he added, urging those expecting financial support from him to be patient.
