2026 Uma trade fair launched in Mbale

The Uganda Manufacturers Association Trade Fair is officially heading to Mbale in 2026, marking a significant shift as the annual exhibition moves beyond the capital to Eastern Uganda.

Launched on Friday, 17th May, the fair is scheduled to run from 5th to 14th June in Mbale, bringing together businesses, innovators, and policymakers under one roof. This year’s theme, “Formalising trade to secure Uganda’s economic future,”highlights the push toward structured and sustainable economic growth.

The launch was headlined by the Bugishu cultural leader, Umukuka, who emphasized the fair’s role in boosting regional commerce, noting that it creates platforms to strengthen cross-border trade.

Speaking at the event, UMA chairman Aga Ssekalala revealed that Mbale’s industrial parks have already attracted approximately $3.3 billion into Uganda’s economy an indicator of the region’s growing investment potential.

Agriculture will also be a key focus, with emphasis on education to equip farmers with knowledge and skills to improve productivity and livelihoods.

With many companies already confirming attendance, the Mbale edition of the trade fair is shaping up to be a major hub for business networking, investment opportunities, and regional economic integration.
